Laboratory Technician Pre-Apprenticeship (Certificate)

The Laboratory Technician Pre-Apprenticeship Certificate will prepare students to enter the Chemistry Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship Program (a Department of Labor Registered Apprenticeship). Student entering the Chemistry Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship Program must be able to demonstrate basic familiarity and competency in biology, chemistry, laboratory operations and activity prior to beginning their apprenticeship.

University Graduation Requirements

  1. Earn a minimum of 12 credit hours (100 level and higher, maximum of 6 continuing education credit hours applicable).
  2. Earn a GPA of at least 2.0 in all required coursework.
  3. Earn half of certificate requirements at MWSU.
  4. Earn 9 of the last 12 credit hours at MWSU in institutional coursework (exclusive of credit by examination).
  5. Participate in required departmental and campus wide assessments.
