Transfer Credit

A maximum of 12 approved credits of graduate work may be transferred to Missouri Western State University from another accredited university to be counted toward a Missouri Western graduate degree. In special circumstances (e.g., programs with over 30 credit hours, student already has a master’s degree, course work was taken at another graduate degree granting institution, etc.), students may petition additional hours to be considered for transfer at the consideration and approval of the graduate program director and Graduate Dean. All transfer credits will be counted toward the graduate overall GPA.

For certificate programs, a maximum of 6 credits, either transferred or taken while at non-degree seeking status, may be counted toward the program. Additional transfer credits or other exceptions to these rules must receive approval by the department/ program director and Graduate Dean
