The Graduate Certificate in Cybersecurity program provides a focused technical understanding of cybersecurity technologies with an emphasis on safeguarding IT infrastructures from attacks on software, networks and cloud resources. The program equips students with security principles and practices they need to become security professionals. Students will learn how to protect an organization's information assets and develop hands-on experience in data protection, network administration and security, cryptography, etc. The specialization also introduces students to the ethical, legal and policy issues associated with cybersecurity.
Admission Requirements
- Submission of application for admission to the MWSU Graduate School.
- A related bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, or related area, from an accredited college or university.
- Completed courses in Object-Oriented Programming, Computer Networking, and Database with grades C, or above.
(Admitted applicants who have not already taken any of these 3 courses prior to their first day of the applied semesters may meet this requirement by either (1) enrolling in undergraduate coursework at Missouri Western State University or (2) passing the related certification exams suggested by the Cybersecurity faculty) - Minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0.
